Retevis Waterproof Shoulder Reinforced Compatible Review

My only issue with this product is that it is copyrighted. Will not work with most radios. I understand WHY, it's waterproof to keep or at least the connection to the radio is waterproof. I highly doubt it's Mike.

Reliable handheld microphone, very well made. Slightly louder than the built-in speaker, so that's a plus! Allows a little more freedom on your radio. The only concern will be that over time the cord will droop and strain the retaining clip, but so far so good.

I currently use it on a Retevis RT87. This is a great handheld microphone. good size Excellent sound quality in both sending and receiving. Well built. Great cord design. Much better than the ones they offer with a big "Ailunce" logo on the front. The one I own isn't nearly as well made as this one.

I bought two of these speaker mics for a pair of GD55+ radios after the one that came with the readios was terrible and sounded like a 1930's transistor AM radio. These replacement mics are the loudest and best speaker mics I have ever used, easily comparable to the Motorola speaker mics I use on 6000 series radios at work.

I installed this mic on my tyt md-2017 and am great sound reports. I've had people ask me if I'm on a cellphone or base station and when I told them I'm on HT they couldn't believe it because the audio was so loud and clear. Good solid mic cable and very solid mic itself, I like the swivel clamp too. You can't go wrong with this microphone. .

I would like to rate this microphone better. That's a good microphone. I got good audio reports from regulars on my local repeaters. But it took some work. When I connected it to my Retevis RT82 it would turn on and off due to the intermittent connection. When I pushed the connector harder, it was stable. So I tried tightening the thumbscrew and the screw broke and I spent half a day trying to get the broken screw out of my radio without damaging it. I had little success. Now I need to find a…
