These cubes do not freeze. The liquid inside is not water and will not freeze. This is probably intentional so that the cubes do not break, but on the other hand it greatly reduces their cooling capacity. Most of the cooling capacity (heat absorption) is in the melting phase.

This is a birthday gift and I wish the Revain sticker hadn't been slapped on the front, I've tried peeling it off and even scraping it off with tweezers but it does still looks sloppy. It all looks a little cheaper than I was hoping, but I love that it comes with tongs and freezer bags.

I don't use them for drinks. I use them to cool food for my little ones and they do a great job. I add them to mac and cheese, soups, oatmeal, etc. This works better than just putting the food in the fridge, as often the top gets chilled but the center is still too hot. With them, the center cools down too quickly.

Not sure why he asked for heat. We store them in the freezer and use them to chill drinks that we don't want to dilute with melting ice. They are cool to the touch even when not kept in the freezer. Quickly cools any room-warm drink to a pleasant drinking temperature. Easy to clean, I only hand wash them. Just make sure they don't go down the drain! Makes a great gift for the person who has everything.
