Not Worth The Money

This car electronics item did not work as advertised .As a result of my tests, I determined that the viewing angle was not actually 170 degrees making it difficult to see while reversing. The only advantage was that it was waterproof. However, there are much better options available on the market for a similar price. Save your money and look elsewhere..

Pros
  • Waterproof
Cons
  • Poor viewing angle, not worth the money

Good value for car electronics

Two years ago I installed a Sony XAV-100 AV Receiver in my 2002 Lincoln Continental. This receiver provides rear view camera support with a rear video input. It also has a 12V reverse input to enable video display. I wanted to have a backup camera, but the problem of running the cable from the taillight to the receiver put me off. Eventually after watching enough youtube and reading the Ford service and electrical manual I figured out how to do the job. It required partial removal of the trunk…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
