Description of 🎨 Graphite Liquid Dye by Rit DyeMore

Dye synthetic fabric and fabric blends, which include anything with 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. Perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing, upcycling, hiding laundry accidents and so much more. With 250+ color recipes available on Rit’s website, it is almost certain you’ll find the right color for your needs. Get creative and create something unique with an easy dye technique, like an ombré, dip dyed, shibori or tie-dye pattern. Due to the complexity of dyeing synthetic fabrics, you must use this dye in a stainless steel pot on your stove top to maintain a high water temperature throughout the duration of dyeing. Cannot be used in a washing machine. If dyeing fabric with less than 35% synthetic fabric (i. e. polyester, acrylic or acetate), use Rit All-Purpose Dye instead

Incredibly disappointed.

I bought several of these when I realized the fabric I was trying to dye was a mixed bag. He originally colored it a little deeper grey, but had no effect on the stitching. Realizing I needed the DyeMore mix, I heated the pot and mixed it as directed, and after cooking my clothes in it three times as long as recommended, the color that came out was almost the same as when I started. Before. Slightly darker grey. Either the label or the zipper has now been colored black. It was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Not a perfect color match, but very close!

I was trying to clean up a bleach stain on our dark gray sofa. Luckily I was able to remove the cover from the sofa. I was afraid to dye the fabric as I saw comments in other reviews about the inaccuracy of the color of the dye, but I took a chance. I followed the instructions but couldn't paint the oven because I don't have a pot big enough to support the weight and size of the cut lid, so I improvised. I used a bucket and filled it with four small pots of boiling hot water. I added color…

The color always comes off!

Wanted to dye a light pink nylon nightgown and thought the gray color would be great. Well the color is not bad, a bit darker than I would like but overall it's ok. Laundered after dyeing is complete to ensure all excess dye has been washed off and rinsed from the shirt. Even after washing in hot water with detergent, the shirt soiled the sheets. Where I slept the bottom sheet was grey, and over the course of a few days the gray gradually darkened. I have since bleached my sheets several times…
