Description of 🎨 Rit DyeMore Advanced Liquid Dye in Kentucky Sky: Perfect for Polyester, Acrylic, Nylon, and More, 7-Ounce Bottle

Dye synthetic fabric and fabric blends, which include anything with 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. Perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing, upcycling, hiding laundry accidents and so much more. With 250+ color recipes available on Rit’s website, it is almost certain you’ll find the right color for your needs. Get creative and create something unique with an easy dye technique, like an ombré, dip dyed, shibori or tie-dye pattern. Due to the complexity of dyeing synthetic fabrics, you must use this dye in a stainless steel pot on your stove top to maintain a high water temperature throughout the duration of dyeing. Cannot be used in a washing machine. If dyeing fabric with less than 35% synthetic fabric (i. e. polyester, acrylic or acetate), use Rit All-Purpose Dye instead

Worked on a nylon/spandex bra with foam cups!

This worked great on a foam bra cup! My bra was white and I use the boil method but didn't boil it. I wanted light blue, the desired color was not long in coming! My bra was nylon/spandex. I also used pink on another white bra and it was just as good. The pink arrived much quicker so I pulled it out after a minute. I wanted light pastels. Very satisfied!

100% Polyester Dress: Waste of time and money.

I had a 100% polyester matte gray dress. I bought some RIT Dymore Kentucky Sky just to keep things interesting. I followed the instructions exactly and even after 2 hours in the dye bath I got a blue tinge, nothing more. I've painted a lot over the years and learned from some mistakes, but I didn't go wrong here. It was a waste of time and money. I will be returning any other Rit Dymore colors that I have purchased.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • No instructions

super easy!

I had never dyed fabric before so I was very nervous. It was SO easy! The bottle says to cook it in the stove but that seems awkward to me and I wasn't sure if my largest pot would be big enough or if it would get dirty. I heated the bath water very, very hot and filled the bucket. Then I covered the tub and added hot water to the tub to keep the bucket warm. I dipped the dress in hot water to get it wet and took it out again. I mixed it up a little. I added the dress back in and then mixed it…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
