So, about that strange smell. Yes, it doesn't smell like the wonderful scent of other leather products I've owned. I'd love to put it out in the sun on a hot summer day, but since fall is here I'll just leave it in the garage for a while. I don't know what else to do. I bought it for a vacation bag to hold my shit on. Hope it doesn't stink for long. The bag itself looks very nice and looks well folded. Also, I took it with me on a trip. Already falling apart. As you can see from the photo, the bag is already worn around the edges. It comes off at almost every seam. It also has a really peculiar smell inside, and it's not the great leather smell that this bag claims to be! It's stiff and the inner pockets are small and awkward to use. If you need to access the content, you must leave it fully unzipped. It's like entering an ancient tomb. And they smell too.

I am very satisfied with the bag. The price is great, the leather feels great. Perfect size for my iPad and a book or two. Solid construction too. I ended up swapping out the band for a more durable one, but that's it. The kit is great too. I just wanted mine to have some sort of gasket and that's the only reason I changed it.

Hardwearing yet supple leather in a simple, classic style. I like the vertical design of this particular model, but given the consistency of materials and construction, you'd be very happy with either. The hardware is also solid. Sizes are maximum limits, so think about what you're carrying before you decide on one. Adding this note a few months later. I had mixed feelings, I like it and I don't like it. I don't like its smell, it smells like motor oil, doesn't smell like leather, it's hard to undo the buckles for someone with arthritis, which isn't the case. I like the looks.
