Totally useless: my feedback

I read all the previous reviews of this product thoroughly, and weighed the pros and cons. How I wish I'd leaned toward the cons! This flimsy plastic book holder will not hold open ANY of my books. I've tried rack-sized paperbacks. I've tried larger paperbacks. I've tried hardbacks. It just doesn't work, no matter where I put the two (flimsy plastic) pegs.Part of the design flaw is this: the back slopes; the pegs don't. That means the pegs touch the pages at only one point -- and the pages just…

Pros
  • The Roberts Book Holder is incredibly sturdy and secure, practically eliminating the risk of dropping or damaging your book
Cons
  • May not work well with e-readers or tablets

Does the job: my feedback

Holding a variety of books and papers is one of those tasks that sounds easy, but is in fact tricky to engineer right. You want to be able to easily turn a page when you want, but not have them turn when you don't want. This device is the answer. Couldn't recommend it more. Not beautiful, but functional.

Pros
  • Good product. Use this for desk at school. Sort of wide but big enoght to hold a book in place.
Cons
  • I have a very difficult time making this work well for most books. I don't like it at all.

A great book holder, now an even better iPad stand

The Roberts Book Holder was essential when I wrote my thesis, but I haven't used it much since - until I got an iPad. This is a great light-weight, stable, iPad stand. Works great with iPad in either orientation (sideways or vertical).

Pros
  • The slim and lightweight design of the holder makes it easy to take with you on the go, perfect for traveling or outdoor reading
Cons
  • Difficult to use for left-handed individuals

Second time's a charm!

We've purchased two of these over the last six years. Both are in good working order. The first purchase confused me on assembly and I felt it was too intensive for a book stand. In addition, it just didn't have the "look" I wanted in my office. However, after years and MANY more bookstand purchases (which were beautiful or easier, but never better) I have come to appreciate this design a great deal. In fact, it has become the only one we use. The others are tucked away in drawers or sitting on

Pros
  • Can hold books of various sizes and thickness
Cons
  • This item was broken. That's why I needed to return it.

Use it all the time

This book holder is so versatile,no need to have a different book holder for different sized books. This book holder has supported my 1000 page physics textbook for many nights without the slightest appearance of tipping over.I use this not only to support my textbooks but i use it to support my tablet in the case where i dont want to use the portfolio case

Pros
  • The durable construction ensures that the holder will last for years of constant use, making it a worthwhile investment
Cons
  • May not work well with unusual book shapes
