Fixed my Ottlite T59BNR table lamp

The unit fitted perfectly into the old ballast position for my Ottlite Vero table lamp model T59BNR. Because the original ballast was destroyed, it took a minute or two for the lights to come on. With new ballast it only takes a few seconds.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Another saved OTT-Lite

I thought my old OTT-Lite was gone forever. The factory couldn't help. There are no instructions. Just a stash of lightbulbs worth nothing now. I bought this little gem by cutting off the factory ballast from the end of the cord. Connected to a new plugin. and my lamp is back. Love it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Overheats when used with a 13W fluorescent lamp

I bought this ballast to replace the ballast in my aquarium. The original ran from 1997 to 2021. This part was listed as a viable alternative as the original is no longer in production. I used American standard 120V to power a 13W two-pin fluorescent lamp. The bulb was new since I replaced it first. This ballast was very hot to the touch and I was worried that the plastic case would start to melt. After running for a few hours the light overheated to the point where the bulb went out to cool…

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Small parts
