🚀 Rocketek USB C CF Card Reader: 3-in-1 Micro USB to USB Type-C Adapter for SD/MicroSD Cards Review

I was looking for a solution for my Macbook and OEM was quite expensive. Sometimes we think we need something but can't experiment, that's what made me want to do it. It has improved my MacBook usage.

This product looks like some kind of off-brand generic. I don't trust generics. When you work with large files, you need to trust the brand you work with. On the product photos was the name of the brand "Rocketek". But it doesn't say it on the product itself

Be careful because the card you insert will not "snap" into place. Also, the metal side of the card you insert goes up toward the top of the device. The top of the device is the side with the label. This is a well-made lightweight block of metal with a cord about six inches long. Just plug in and get started.

With Blackmagic Disk Testing Software and a USB Type-C port, the SD card write speed was limited to 35Mbps. On another card reader I reached 90 MBit/s. Other than that, it works well, and I love how flexible it is, how many different cards it can use, and how many ports it fits. If speed is not a must, this is a good choice.

I went back and forth with a more expensive reader when all I needed was a CF reader. It's small, fast and gets the job done. I copied some photos from my card and it works much faster than just connecting to the camera. I wish the cable was a little longer (only about 5 inches). I only used the USB plug. I would recommend this for basic CF read/write functions.

I have several digital camera memory cards. This reader is perfect for me as I have all 3 cards ready that can only be used with one. It has a blue LCD that lets you know it's working. The reading speed is high. I can insert images into Adobe Lightroom very quickly. By the way, I used cf and sd cards for Nikon cameras and microsd for GoPro. I haven't seen any problems so far. If you need faster transfer speeds, by all means use it with a USB-C port. I prefer to use it as USB-3.
