The best tutorial around

this is the best tutorial for a private pilot in my opinion. I just got 93% PPL. Rod reveals a lot more detail than, say, the Jeppesen books, which is great because even if you only save a few of these, you still have more than enough knowledge to be a safe pilot.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • communication with the seller

Something Good Something Different

This is a great book that packs a lot of knowledge in an easy to understand format. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. I have a feeling they could find a way to scale this down a bit to help a client in an already expensive industry. All in all a great book, I can only recommend it.

Pros
  • Rugged Design
Cons
  • Protection

Good Guide, Too Much Humor

While the general guide was very helpful, the one-line humor was distracting and time-consuming. I think Ron is a very good teacher and able to explain some very difficult content easily, although I hope the next issue won't contain as much material from his nightclub. happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall
Cons
  • Repair

Enjoy Reading: Lots of Fuzz

I love that Rod made this book so funny. I guess you have to be funny to get your sense of humor. But this book is a giant standee that teaches you to fly. But I only gave it 4 stars because humor is a double edged sword. If I'm not up for dizzying shenanigans and just want to get to the copper tax, I still need to read this book instead of going to meat and potatoes to make sure I get the context of his talk right. So if you like Ben Stein, don't buy this book.

Better than Jeppesen

This book, PHAK and Jeppesen text are great for memorization and testing, but if you really want to get the details of the theory/why and applicable/what to do, this is the best three text. I like the cheesy humor that can put some people off, but even if you take it out, this test is written more coherently and logically - there's a person trying to teach you. Points teacher who may or may not be your thing PHAK: free and thorough

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

  • Only available in white

Informative and reassuring

I have wanted to fly since I was 10 years old. But until this year I never really thought about how to do it. This book was recommended on the Pilots Blog. I've only read the first two chapters and I love it. I really feel like I'm getting a well structured introduction to single engine airplanes and how they work. Also, people complained or criticized some humor writers. However, I find it very comforting and helpful to go through some of the technical semantics. I found it necessary to write…
