It's so nice to use a fresh piece of footage!

For the first time in a long time I've used footage that hasn't been shaped, reshaped, deformed and stuffed into my work bag. Nice and clean. Not for long.

Pros
  • Practical matter
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Cinefoil is like sticky tape for photographers

Whenever you think of a photographic problem you might have at work, Cinefoil comes to mind as a solution. There are so many uses you can think of for it. It creates a shadow on your lenses, you can use it as a flag, you can use it as a grid. Plus, it can be recycled! Countless ways. It's a little expensive, but the good thing is that you can keep it and use it again and again.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • No

perfect for precision lighting mods

Have been using this stuff for years but finally I needed more. Use it mainly for finding small items, especially food shots in place. Works great, you can bend it any way you want for each shot, make the muzzle very small and precise, or big for hair/frame lighting for portraits. Takes up virtually no space in your lighting bag or camera bag. I only keep a few pieces for a few flashes, if you can gently flex the foil several times without tearing, then just flatten it out for storage in a bag.

Excellent quality for film production

I work in the film industry and we use this stuff all the time. Light leaks from ARRI kits? black film Glowing green exit sign? Black Movie! Lens flare and your cameraman forgot his frosted box and the capture truck is parked 6 blocks away and you don't want a poor assistant running out in 100 degree heat to pick it up? Just wrap in black foil! For those who don't know what it is I will say that this is a very strong aluminum foil but in a matte black colour. It absorbs light and prevents it…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Expensive

So far, so good. in light & studio

This material is incredibly light. It manages to flex endlessly without cracking or breaking, and yet weighs less than aluminum of the same thickness! What kind of scientific magic is going on here?!?!? I bought this to use as a windbreak for my camping cook. It works better than anything I've used before, and it's lighter than most titanium windshields! I'm not sure how that's possible, but Cinefoil is the real winner. I unfold it and fold it back each time I use it to keep it in the pan. I…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not all fit
