Luckily my hat arrived in perfect condition, but it is clear that this hat is fragile and must be treated with care. Even after the weekend, when I was very careful with it, some of the straw ties still snapped. Still a very nice hat but be very careful how you handle it.

I love the Roxy Girl version of this kahuna style hat! The sun is definitely closing! It's a bit dainty and charming! There is a harness that I recommend for the wind! My hat flew off my head on the windiest day I've ever had at the beach. Luckily the strap saved me from losing this amazing hat!

This hat is very light and the sun protection is excellent. It looks a little thin, but it's a straw hat. I'm taking extra care and caution, just like you. I've worn it mowing the lawn, the beach, the pool and snorkeling at the springs. It is very well preserved. I have a small head and most of these hats pop and pop for me. Size S/M is perfect for this hat. I will definitely buy another tag when this one dies.

Although I ordered the smallest size available, it's still a bit big. What does that say about my head? This is the second style I own, although the first was Billabong and they all seem a little on the big side. My first hat to play with on a paddle board and needless to say too many salt water dives made it a little unattractive but still serviceable. These caps are not meant for swimming! This hat is perfect for the beach. I had trouble finding hats that fit my small head, so I was very happy that this hat came in a smaller size. I actually bought this cap to wear when I run because I run in a very hot and sunny country. I think it's going to be great because it fits pretty well and hardly bounces. I bought this hat for high desert field work. I've only had it for about two weeks so I can't comment on its durability but so far I'm really liking it. I'm small so it sits well on my head. I love that the headband curves down slightly and seems to provide more shade than the previous straight brimmed hat I had. I also work in windy conditions and as long as the laces are tight I don't have to worry about the wind getting into them and constantly blowing them off my head. I'm really concerned…

I am sooooo disappointed with this hat. I was happy to wear it in the garden, playing with the kids, or lounging on our Baja shelf. When the hat arrived it was as I expected but I noticed that one of the straws was already broken because it was the only one, I wasn't worried about that although it annoyed me.
