My Harlequin puppy Joey loves his food

We are very happy with this brand. Joey's coat is healthy and full of energy, especially after dinner. We try to calm him down for about 20 minutes to let his eating calm down, but it's not easy. Over the years we have raised 11 Great Danes and tried every brand of dog food. This is our favorite for our dear boy.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Great brand, great quality!

Excellent quality! My Great Dane loves it and she has gained weight well - she was a rescue dog who needed to gain weight. We gave her a slightly higher daily dose but now that she is at her ideal weight we have gone back to the recommended dose and she is maintaining her weight. I have used this brand before and always prefer it - I see it as an investment in the dog's future health.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some problems

I love this dog food!

I have an 18 month old Dane mix and this is by far the best food I have given him. I've tried other brands of food and I hated them all. His skin was dry and itchy, and his fur was dull and flat. He has no skin problems with Royal Canin and his coat is so shiny. He also eats less than other dog foods I've tried. I started with Royal Canin for giant puppies and then switched to juniors when he was 18 months old. He weighs 110 pounds and appears to have finished growing.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

By-Product Warning!: Food

The first ingredient is a chicken by-product, and that's a big problem, especially considering the price. I was shocked that they first use leftovers bought for pennies a pound and repackage them as premium products, not to mention 'groceries'! The size of the pellets/nuggets are perfect for my Great Dane who is hard to come by but the company needs to use quality ingredients if they want to be top notch. Don't waste your money, it looks great but it's not what you want to feed your partner.

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • Short Instructions

I have been feeding Royal Canin for several years now and will never switch to any other food. I have large (okay, HUGE) dogs and I want them to have HUGE chunks that they actually have to chew (not just swallow). It's better for their teeth and digestion, ie. SIGNIFICANT BREATH. If you have a large or giant breed dog, do not ignore this material. I also recommend their vet line for more specific health issues like hip dysplasia/mobility.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

DO NOT buy this through Revain!

I have been buying these 30lb packs from Royal Canin Giant Jr for his 3 Great Danes for over a year approx 6 packs a month. I've found Revain to puncture vacuum bags that become stiff if not punctured when I get them through Chewy. I refrained from this review until the 12th bag in a row was here. I suppose they do this to make them easy to handle and pack. They naturally lose their freshness. So I'm going back to Chewy for this one. Revane, do you want to fix this problem or lose more…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

YUP! But be careful - read me

Summary I love this food, have fed it to two Great Danes for two years, quality control is an issue. Bags of pieces are smaller than usual. The packages are sometimes vacuum sealed and sometimes not. I can safely say that there are some serious issues with this particular type of Royal Canin food that I have never seen before in any other Royal Canin product/pack (we also use this brand for cats). I wouldn't feed anything. still growing dane, period. We have tried many, many other products.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Functionality

My Hamilton loves his food

Update: After eating Royal Canina for a few months our DDB (French Mastiff) just stopped eating it. I tried to soften it but even after pouring in the broth and heating it still wouldn't soften. Our 4 month old DDB ate little but got very soft stools. We threw away the rest of the food and bought another brand that he eats with no problems. I have no idea what happened, but something is wrong with this feed. My 8 month old French Mastiff Hamilton loves this food. He can't get enough. I have…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Everything is fine

Great food! Good for dogs

I have Great Pyrenees and he is 1 year and 4 months old. My vet recommended this food to me because for some reason the super premium dog food I gave him didn't work for him. I gave him Fromm and although the recommendations for his size and age said 4.5 cups a day, I actually gave him 6 cups and he was very underweight. I switched to Taste of the Wild and he got so sick I had to rush to the vet. Then the vet told me that the really good food is the one that works, feeds the dog. For some dogs…

Pros
  • Best
