🧽 Rubbermaid Clear Sink Mat: An Optimal and Medium-Sized Solution for Your Kitchen Sink Review

Mat keeps food out of the drain. I liked the idea with the hole in the middle, but the grates don't have legs sticking out over the sink, so the food you use to wash dishes gets stuck in the grate - then you have to clean the rest of the food off the grate in the carpet. Also, they need to make the mat wider to fit the rectangular shaped sink. All in all bad design.

Sink mats are shipped clear but will turn translucent orange over time. Within 6 months of regular use and regular cleaning of the mats in the dishwasher, they turned an ugly translucent orange color forever. Rugs are solidly constructed and physically last a long time, so a solid color like black can last longer. I would not recommend buying sheer rugs.

These mats have been good for a while. They have a slightly bluish tint; They are not clear, I bought them for my mother's sinks. She wanted something to protect her from scuffs and scrapes etc. They continued to protect their shells; they are definitely long lasting (she's had them for a little over 9 months but over time they discolored even more. They went from a bluish cast to a dirty gray. If discoloration doesn't bother you, they're a good product.

UPDATED. Rubbermaid will send a replacement. This rug replaces a similar beige rug that has lasted for years. I like how it's durable, sits well over the surface and drains water easily. BUT unlike my old one, it rubbed off quickly - the lime green color is noticeable in the detail photo - and is not universal for the entire rug. Very happy with this sink mat. I tried three others and all had problems. I just bought a new stainless steel sink and didn't want it to get scratched like my old one. I find this rug will protect my sink well. This mat has small feet that allow you to wash away leftover food without lifting the mat. It's made of thick plastic and looks solid enough.
