Great design best in my review

I am using this plug to plug my portable dedicated powder coat shop oven into my shop welding outlet. This plug design is perfect since I am constantly plugging and unplugging from the outlet. Anyone who has had to unplug the traditional flat welding plug knows how difficult a task that is. With its built in, whole hand, handle, this plug is very easy to plug and unplug. Installation is straight forward for anyone who has installed a welding plug before.

Pros
  • The conductor connection points can fail when screws are tightened. Needs a redesign
Cons
  • Poor quality I would not buy it piece of junk

Worked great for my welder cord

Used this to build an extension cord for my welder, bought this one because of the finger grips on it.Works great and great quality.

Pros
  • Plug end is good overall. A little on the weak side, but should hold up under lite duty.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all welding machines

Much better than big box versions

I have been slowly rewiring plugs to a good bit of micro dairy equipment. I’m no electrician and I certainly appreciate the excellent instructions. The cord grip is fantastic and the rubber strain relief as a second layer makes this a fully sealed plug—very important in food service where we will be washing down regularly. This plug replaced a similar in description but not performance purchased at Home Depot the previous day.Cannot go wrong with this plug.

Pros
  • works well and easy to wire
Cons
  • May not be compliant with modern safety regulations

Nice for the price.

A bit light and thin, but seems sturdy enough for general usage.Definitely NOT heavy duty or military grade, but gets the job done for a decent price. So treat it nice and don't use it to hammer nails , it should last for years.I used this receptacle for a welder extension cord.NOT heavy duty or even water resistant. Its a bit flimsy compared to top of the line , but gets the job done on a budget.Wire connectors are adequate, but seem to be of a light to medium construction. It WILL NOT resist…

Pros
  • Work as thought
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all circuit breakers

Design/Exterior Awesome, BUT.

Using this to make up a welder extension cord. Naturally wanted something heavy duty. Was excited by the apparent quality of the exterior. Seemed solid, nice feel, etc. However, once opened to wire up, I was less excited. While no doubt this could pass some limited test for 50 amps, the actual wiring components seemed too light duty for me. Very thin and an attempt to increase rigidity by using stamped bends into the tines. The tines are EASILY bent, in fact the ground tine on mine was bent out

Pros
  • They're working well!
Cons
  • May be more expensive than other alternatives

Safety First! in my review

This is another quality product from amazon.I especially like the finger hole grabs. They keep your finger tips away from the power prongs when plugging or unplugging. Much safer!I would buy again with confidence!

Pros
  • Easy to install.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for industrial environments

Missing cord restraints on the 4 I ordered.

Like the bright yellow color. Bought 4 & none of them had the cord restraint with them to keep the cord from being pulled out of the box.

Pros
  • Well made, provides an easy way to unplug your welder!
Cons
  • May not be easy to clean and maintain

Best bang for your buck

Very high quality product for the price point. I was very impressed with he quality of the internal screws and wire hold downs. Overall I will buy this again when I am in need of another outlet

Pros
  • Easy to remove plug
Cons
  • May not have a high-quality warranty

Good Enough good for me

This outlet works just fine. It's not really heavy-duty, but the plastic seems good quality. Might be a bit brittle in really cold temperatures, I won't swing it around and whack it on the pavement just to find out. The metal part is thick enough to feel sturdy but there is nothing to keep it from bending out at the top if you were to yank on the cord real hard. The screw terminals work best for solid wire. I used stranded wire, so I crimped ferrules made from short pieces of copper tubing on…

Pros
  • like it
Cons
  • May not have clear labeling for different wire connections

the machine screw metal clasp hold down stripped?

their is an internal tab that holds the chord in place before attaching the back half of the receptacle. It did not even function once. The plugs are also a bit thin, certainly thinner than the Home Depot Equivalent. I imagine it functions, but the quality is kinda low.unfortunately. I can't help wonder if how long the plug will last if it takes a lot of current over a long period of time.

Pros
  • I love the finger holes. Makes it super easy to remove from socket.
Cons
  • May not be environmentally friendly
