Great shoes. Definitely not waterproof.

Let me say up front that I am very picky about shoes. I am a meter reader. We walk many kilometers every day, both on paved and unpaved paths. Keeping feet dry and comfortable are two of the biggest challenges. I have used several Keen "waterproof" mid tops with varying degrees of success and wanted to try a different brand. Comfort - 4/5. The insoles do not enclose the foot with shells, it is felt, but they are quite comfortable. Bow support is good too. The supportive surface around the foot…

WHAT'S THAT!: Mens

I've been a Merrill fan for years, but after my last two falling boots were frustrating, I decided to give Salomon a try. I've talked to cool guys who make cool stuff for a living. They are all Filipino and have tiny skinny feet. After some thought I got them, they fit me very well, a bit snuggly. I had a hot spot for the first few hours, but after some use it went away. What impressed me the most is how light the boots are compared to some others I have. Haven't done many dissertations yet but

Fantastic lightweight hybrid for walkers and trail runners

This is my second pair of Salomon shoes. I run Fellraisers all year round. Bought for hiking and hunting. But once I wear them, I also look forward to running in them. I live in the Pacific Northwest so we get a lot of rain. During my hunts this fall, my feet stayed dry and comfortable. Traction is premium and aggressive. The boot is lightweight and makes long hikes much easier. At the end of the day, the legs no longer felt heavy. I will update this review once I get more miles on it over the…

You NEED these boots 🤘

UPDATE 4/26/20 - 1 year later - the Gortex lining is starting to fail, I suspect it's due to rare flooding where water hits the top of me Boots and can't run away. The tread is a bit worn but I've ridden it for hundreds of miles so I'm not too disappointed. Still very comfortable and no tears or holes. I will buy again. UPDATE: 5 months later and they have become my favorite shoe and they are holding up great. Yesterday was a 3 mile hike with a water traverse and some mud. Sprayed them with a…

Better than ever! Outdoor

I have owned, loved and worn two pairs of the previous version of these boots. Ultra 3 exceeded all expectations. Requires minimal break-in, a perfectly customizable fit, and breathable, waterproof performance as before. With the Ultra 3 I have better grip, especially on the descents. They are as light as I can imagine full boots. I have ridden many miles in the Rocky Mountains and the Ozarks and these boots are the best I have ever worn.

I'm stuck with a pair of shoes he can't wear

These shoes are poorly made, I bought them for my husband and only have about 10 minutes to try them on and walk around the house with them walking, he took out the insoles and put in other insoles, the feet still hurt, he wore them for 3 days and then told me never buy me these shoes again, he said they look like a cheap pair of tennis shoes. He wore them outside so we can't return them, we thought we were buying a great product based on other reviews. We are deeply mistaken. I have to say…

Fantastic work shoe

I bought these 5 months ago and wanted to see how they break in before reviewing them. I use them for work. I live in Appalachia and work outside. I walk several miles a day and wanted something light, durable, breathable and waterproof. It is VERY difficult to find something that meets these 4 criteria. So, here's what I found out about these sneakers. The first week they were quite tight and had too much arch support. I've never had this problem before and at the end of the day it was quite…

Heavy Duty Boots.: Hiking and Trekking

I bought these boots specifically for a 96 hour small unit tactics course. During those 96 hours, we only slept about 8 hours because we were on our feet most of the time, hiking and patrolling the high desert regions of southern Utah on both flat and mountainous and densely forested terrain. These boots worked fairly well and although they failed I didn't get blisters or other areas on my feet that showed significant wear as expected. There are a few dry spots but other than that my feet were…

Very satisfied.

I've run some muddy trails in them and put them on on cold snowy/muddy days and they have delivered. They shrink instantly, are incredibly light and stay dry in every condition I've worn them. Very satisfied.
