The sand was perfect in color and grain for a child. However, we received a bad batch because it contained sand fleas. We tried to get them out, but they kept multiplying.

Everything seemed fine when it arrived but soon my son developed an incredible eye irritation. We thought he had Tourette's because he kept blinking. We removed the sand (which also had fleas) and within 24 hours he stopped blinking, the sand is so incredibly fine and dusty that it clearly got in his eyes, but my kids could inhale the stuff too. Do not buy if you don't want tick infestation. 2 days after opening there were black bugs in the sand. Another reviewer also complained about flaws in her sand, so I guess it's not just me. The disgusting thing is that when I crushed the bugs, they exploded in blood! I googled the bugs and found that they really are ticks. What the hell? So they either fed on my daughter or my dog or both! Now I have to treat my dog for ticks and will probably have to call an exterminator to clean up the rest…

After reading about mosquitoes I was a bit skeptical about buying this sand. After probably sleeping on it, I just decided to buy a box and give it a try. Best decision I've ever made lol. My kids currently have 100 pounds of this amazing magically beautiful pure white sand. I love him so much. I have bought 2 different orders of Sandtastik. One from Amazon and then 3 more boxes from the Walmart website because I had a Walmart gift card that I had to use. I didn't pay attention to the difference in the boxes - and it's important for you to know that Sandtastik sand comes in 2 different types!
