Santic Cycling Skull Cap Helmet Liner: Stay Warm and Windproof with Thermal Fleece Bicycle Hat Review

I wore it for the first time yesterday and it warmed my head a lot. Mind you, this was in the fifties, so I took it off on the way home and really noticed the difference. Covers my ears and I have a pretty big head. The helmet fits a little tighter, but not by much. Slightly rougher material than the softer one I bought from Tough Outfitters, but the latter is slightly smaller and doesn't cover the earlobes.

Mainly a quality hat with great warmth and good fabric that greatly reduces wind noise when cycling. the cap makes orientation difficult and the seam on the edge seems to be at the front! My only complaint is that one of the two Santic-branded labels (both made from a fairly thick, rubbery material) sits over you. earplugs and may interfere with the use of headphones or a Bluetooth headset.

What I don't like: - It's a bit more difficult to hear the surroundings with my ears closed - If I don't care what's around me and want to wear headphones, it's very uncomfortable. The compression from the hat pushes them into my ear canals.

This hat is very light, comfortable and keeps the cold out. No more ice cream headaches on the early morning commute in Spring Colorado. It fits my husband's XL head and covers his ears well. In inclement weather (it's Colorado, after all) it's easy to pack in your tool bag. Highly recommended.

For reference, I wear medium-sized bike helmets (head circumference 55-57). This hat is probably best suited for a person with a small head. I feel my head is tight and even after putting them on the earbuds don't fully cover my ears. One of the brand's rubber logos sits above your ear, visible in the wind. I fixed it by removing it. I work late nights in cold weather - the hat is a bit tight from day one. So I continued to adjust and film it - I even stretched it too much. Two nights ago I was very busy so I left it on for a few hours - when I got home I found a 4 inch wrinkle/skin fold on my forehead! it was scary, the lid is just really tight. The elastic hem is sewn with pleats, making the hat even tighter. Not good. I even trimmed the back edge to make it freer - it doesn't help. I am returning this item. Don't buy it!
