Very important. Nana agreed.

This is an excellent black and white book. This is good value for money. My granddaughter loves to "read". The pages that child picks up to find the hidden animal are a great way to practice plucking and fine motor skills.

Pros
  • hands-free mode
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great toy for about a month

Bought for my 2 month old baby. He liked black and white colors but had a two-month attention span. Now he is 5 months old and he doesn't care. It has crumpled pages and peeping animals, but it's too simplistic for him right now. Too bad because he finally has the ability to focus on books.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Upgradable

One of My Child's Favorite Things

We taped this book to the pole on my child's activity mat and it is one of his favorite things to pick up and play with. He loves to touch it, look at it and put it in his mouth. He doesn't like many toys, so I'm always really happy when he really likes something. Very glad I packed this for him.

Better than expected!

Very impressed with how much the child enjoyed this book. Still loving it at 13 months, liked it at 8.5 months and I'm sure he would have liked it earlier. Pros: Lots of different high-contrast patterns, crumpled cover, page turning, flip-up flap give kids lots of different things to do as they get better with their hands. Cons: I didn't find any!

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • No automatic controls

For children at all stages of development

A cute book that just grows with your child. The high-contrast images make it a bargain for her now that she's just born, and the crumpled pages will be great for when she starts packing things. Looking ahead helps them learn consistency of objects and simple words as they begin to learn to read. I see it becoming a favorite toy.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

I liked it so much that I bought another one!

I bought this book for my first grandson and it was one of the first things he has really looked at in a long time. It has flaps that pucker and roll up. Perfect size for little hands and arms. I liked it so much I bought another one for my second grandson and he loves it too. The sides are so bright and striking with black, white, red and yellow. A limitation. My sister in law washed it and the red color is all over so don't wash it. She still uses it, but the brightness is now muted.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Really Great Book for Babies and Toddlers

There are so many elements in this book that are great for babies and toddlers. First, black and white graphics are great for babies as they develop their field of vision. Adding red is great because one of the first colors they usually see is red. Some pages "wrinkle" and make noise. Playing hide and seek is always fun as children range in age from 6 months to 1 year. Finally, the book includes easy words for toddlers who may want to "read" this book to their new siblings.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some Little Things
