This is a fantastic center. Others I've used have disconnected from the MacBook when I removed the USB sticks or SD card. It has a nice, smooth feel on and off the climb that doesn't tug on the hub, causing it to shut down and possibly corrupting the transmission to or from the computer. At first I wanted to return it after reading the reviews. Mine seems to be in perfect condition, no problems. It easily attaches to either side and properly tilts to the side of the laptop. The color may vary slightly, but if you close your computer and look down at the curved surface from above, it matches almost perfectly. I got a new 13" MBP with a touchpad and I didn't want to get caught up in keys and adapters. My old setup with a 2016 15" MBP had a lot of cables on one side of the laptop due to the use of multiple monitors and USB hubs. I have a black protective case that needed to be lightly filed on the left side. It should fit snugly against the side of the laptop.
