Training Shoes: Shoes

I've been running Saucony Kinvara for over a year now. My only complaint with them is that the cushioning only lasts about 250 miles. That makes it pretty expensive. The Cortana has the same 4mm heel-to-toe drop as the Kinvara, so I decided to test them out to see if they lasted longer. They have a more durable and slightly thicker sole so I hope that makes a difference. They cost 50% more than Kinvara, so if they don't last 50% longer, it's a bad investment. They are over an ounce heavier than

Decent but not exceptional

I'm a woman with bony feet lol. Women's shoes are not wide enough and too narrow. I could have bought a wide one but it would have swallowed my legs. Not to mention that the color schemes are better. Not every woman likes pink, ugh. So men's shoes. I've always had success with Saucony. I love these shoes, but I was expecting more cushioning and arch support than the Saucony Guide 9. Great shoe for the most part

I'm on my third pair of these shoes and love them. I used to have problems with my toes in sneakers. They have a lot more room in the toe box and that is no longer a problem. The only issue I had was when I was running for an outing and getting soaked with sweat and water the insoles started slipping out. I ended up sticking them on to fix it. Annoying, but not a deal breaker.

  • Soft lace-up shoe for mild to moderate overpronation
Cons
  • Infuriates

Best place in a long-distance running shoe

I've tried pretty much every type of running shoe on the market. I started with the Brooks Glyercin and NB 1080 a few years ago and eventually switched to a minimalist shoe due to some hip issues (hereditary, not shoe related). After mastering forefoot and toe landing in a minimalist shoe, I dove into the natural world of barefoot running with Merrell Road Gloves and other nearly unsold shoes. But then fatigue fractures followed. Ouch. It's time for more additions. After much research. Newton…
