Works well for me, good for sports and outdoor activities. Accessories

Took this on a 2 week trip to Peru and had no problems. Water is absorbed by the straw very well, does not require much force. I was able to squeeze it and pour out the water with no problem. I noticed there was a small valve at the top next to the straw, it fell out and when I accidentally put it in the wrong way it was extremely difficult to suck through the straw, but once I twisted it right I had no problems at all. I took the Sawyer and my girlfriend had the Life Straw, both worked very…

I drink flour with this bottle

I really like this water bottle. In fact, everyone needs this water bottle. I regularly fill this bottle with creek water when I'm on an adventure. This water bottle turns any bad survival situation into a fun vacation. My only issue with this water bottle is the looks. This is a five star water bottle with a three star aesthetic. The water bottle comes with additional nozzles that look almost like a ghetto. Also the Sawyer brand logo is a bit big and I want to hide it. The lid has a hole for a

Great product, needs a little tweaking

A few small tweaks can make this second generation absolutely perfect. The hat is ugly. Very ugly, and the bottle is nice to look at too. The good news is that the flexible rubber straw that connects the filter to the cap is flexible enough that you can probably fit the filter into any water bottle with an internal straw (why not sell the filter separately?). However, the lid needs some work. Plastic is not very durable. My first one broke after the first drop. So this needs to be fixed. In…

Reliable Brand. Great bottle

I bought this bottle for canoeing in border waters. Since then I've taken it on several other hikes and canoe trips. It's so incredibly comfortable. I was concerned that the thread would be too restrictive. It's not like this. I never had to wash the filter during the trip. It had a steady stream that lasted the entire week of my hike. When I get home, I just follow the storage instructions. After that, the bottle is ready for the next trip. I read many reviews before purchasing this bottle. As

Water Taste Test Between Top Brands

My family bought three of the best water bottles. We based our purchases on multiple website reviews as well as the filtering ability of bottled water. Our test was to find a portable water bottle that delivers the best-tasting water. The following flavors were tested: 1. Sawyer Products SP140 Personal Water Bottle Filter (2nd place)2. Seychelle Extreme Water Filter Bottle (3rd place)3. Epic Nalgene OG Ultimate Outdoor Travel Bottle (1.) The results were unanimous from my family after using…

Large Personal Filtered Water Bottle

I recently received my Sawyer Products SP140 Personal Filtered Water Bottle. First, the total volume is given as 1 liter 33.8 ounces. However, the actual amount of water you can put in a filter bottle is less. My initial guess was about 7-9 ounces of water displacement from the filter. After a simple but effective experiment, I found that the actual movement of the filter into the bottle is about 4 ounces. With that in mind, you can fill the bottle with about 30 ounces of water. Given the…

Great filter for every day.

Be sure to check the top straw and tube coming from the filter for excess material. I think that's the best word for it. I look like small bits of dried glue or small shavings of the tube when inserted into the plastic tip of the filter. Accidentally drinking is no fun as it tends to get stuck in the back of your throat. In addition, the hose closes well and tightly, so I don't have to worry about dirty water getting into the straw. This was a problem I've always had with bolts, they also…
