Stuck in my 4" well because the wire cap broke off, held in place by two screwed in nifty metal grommets, couldn't get it out, after a week of intermittently pulling and pushing it finally loosened enough to get it out. When I pulled it out it was already rusty, not what you want in a submersible pump. Cheap Chinese junk! Pump wires are so thin that it is difficult to attach them to new pump wires. The pump has worked flawlessly for several months. Stripped and tested on the stand. It just made a whirring noise, the motor wouldn't turn and it got very hot within seconds. I should have known better to install this cheap Chinese POS in my fountain. I replaced a pump that had been in use since 1992. I saw good reviews about this pump so I decided to try it. What a big mistake. The straps that hold the wiring are too small, we're made of flimsy steel that sticks out so much that it was difficult to get it into a 4" hole. The pump itself seemed to be everything it was! I added a check valve and lowered it down the chute after trying to get the docking tape to stick and finally sorting it out. I think it sticks to itself and you stretch it a bit to make a watertight seal. but with a deep hole all over the roll, what's the point?
