Despite negative reviews, took a risk because of the price (prone to operating errors). As in the experience of many others, my lamp arrived with cloudy liquid. I've performed the recommended toggle MANY times and even asked the manufacturer for assistance. They recommended more cycling and then returned to the seller if not lucky. I did it, then I did it. As a longtime owner of several lava lamps (including a good one I recently bought from Revain for my daughter) I found these reports of "muddy gray water" to be exaggerated. . NO! Mine came with cloudy gray water (or gray film on glass) that did NOT improve after a few days of proper use. The lamp was also DOA, but I can apologize. UPS for return. not as much. I read incomplete reviews and saw that some people looked at the reviews and decided to risk it anyway and received their lava lamps without any problems or defects, so i decided to take a chance too so my boyfriends birthday would be this week and i needed it by then. I'm not as lucky as some others. Everything else about the lamp was fine except for the muddy water. When I first turned it on, dust just fell off the lava as it flowed, clouding it even more!
