Exactly what I needed

It accidentally broke while rearranging my son's room. I'm so glad I was able to find another one quickly and was excited to get a new one.

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • So far so good

The lamp exploded best in Novelty Lighting

It was fine until it just exploded in my son's hand and made the glass fly. He was lucky that he only suffered minor cuts on his arms and legs, it could have been much worse. I would stay away from this product

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Neutral

Better than the ones we bought in the store.

I bought one of these globes for my son at a local store for Christmas. I got this one to replace one when it broke (I don't advise accidentally dropping it) and it was way better than the other. Lots of lightning fast lines and very sensitive. A good size too.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Safety hazard, explosive glass ball

My 8 year old son touched glass and it exploded on the floor in his room. We had one that fell over and exploded, but I thought it was an accident until I saw it explode in my son's hand. He was barefoot and had to pick him up to avoid cutting himself on one of the thousands of splinters on the floor. Glass is as thin as paper and poses a security risk. Do not buy!

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • embarrassing

An excellent gift for a child under 12 years old

I bought my daughter the same for the New Year, but it arrived damaged, so I bought it as a replacement. apparently used because there were no glow-in-the-dark stickers. My daughter was disappointed and I considered returning it but not worth the time and effort. I will buy it separately. It's a little weak but still works. He picks up music so-so and needs to be closer to the speaker.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are cons

Perfect for your little "mad scientist "!

I love this plasma ball! The perfect gift for your little "mad scientist-in-training"! Can switch between continuous and sonic operation. The audio works best with music, although it responds to applause. A fun way for kids to safely explore and visualize static electricity. Suitable for "budding scientists". A sweet novelty on the bedside table for kids to focus on while trying to get their bearings in bed. if they can resist the urge to touch it! I found this a bit cheaper at a local store…

Pros
  • Big selection
Cons
  • Many things

The whole toy is 8 inches!

Very cool gift for my 8 year old nephew who asked for one after a trip to the science center. In the photos it looks like a larger 8 ball version but it is not. ball and base 8 inches together; The plasma ball can be 5 inches in size. Delivery was very quick within 1 day during the holiday week. Overall better than the $25 museum gift shop version, but not quite what I thought of the smaller version. We tested it in front of a Bose speaker and it sounds pretty good with a song that has some…

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • boring packaging

If you use this decoration out of reach, it is REALLY fragile.

It was pretty cool when it worked. It cracked so easily so I guess not to touch it. I assume this was just meant to be an out of range demonstration? The whole point is touching it, so it's frustrating. I ended up throwing it away 8 days after Christmas when my child just fell partially unconscious from getting cuts from all the broken glass which shocked him trying to touch it with his finger. So fragile it's funny so I lost $20 and what would have been a great science gift.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Weak set
