I love this set of 2 brushes. If you are trying to stay away from bristles which can get into your food and cause serious problems then I can safely say this is a fantastic substitute. I like the size of both brushes, but remember you need to HOT clean the grill and also have a bowl of water nearby to dip the brush in. It cleans the grill SO WELL. These brushes helped remove some particularly nasty stains that softer picks couldn't remove. Part of the brush is at a good angle to the handle.
