1994 Seadoo GTX: Piston Rings

Adjust my ski (1994 Seadoo GTX) after I put it on (mostly use a rubber mallet and 2x4 with a hammer to hit the end) make sure that after inserting the wear ring you work in such a way that the impeller moves freely in the jet pump. Remember that the flat side comes first.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Excellent quality wear ring

This wear ring fitted my 97 Sea Doo very easily and fits my new Solas impeller very well. It took some heat and a saw to cut the old one out, but as soon as I pulled it out, this one stood up right up. I went ahead and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours to shrink it just enough to hit with a rubber mallet. .

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are cons

Fits nicely on a 1995 Seadoo GTX!

Works great on my Seadoo GTX. I put it in the freezer for a few days until I was done. The cold had shrunk it just enough to easily displace it with a 2X4 cross and a small hammer. If I ever need to replace a wear ring again I will come back for the same one. Very happy with the purchase, brought the old ski back to life. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No automatic controls

Not bad for the price

Gets the job done. I have 2 of these skis and have used this ring on both. For one, it fits perfectly around the impeller. On the other hand, it was very tight around the impeller and I had trouble starting because the impeller was tied up. This could be due to differences between the wheels as these are old skis. But whatever, they worked and for the price, can't complain.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost never

Impeller will not fit this ring

Wear ring replaced with this, I have a '95 Seadoo SPi and after all the trouble of fitting this thing into the impeller it now does not fit. original impeller I'm sure I could force it, but I don't want to rip a new ring as it defeats the purpose of replacing. The wear ring arrived quickly and looks great and has a sealing lip. It won't be easy to pull it out again without damaging it.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Costs money! The Best in the Engine

I wish I bought this ring the first time! I started with a cheap one and it had 0.060" of play before I started the engine! (SeaDoo recommends a replacement if the play exceeds 0.040). It was a great lesson in "you get what you pay for"! So I bought this higher quality wear ring and it fits without any play.No more cavitation!I drove the car all summer. This is definitely the highest quality wear ring!

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
