Description of SGT KNOTS Spectra Cord - Versatile 1.8 mm or 2.2 mm Speargun Line for Fishing, Camping, 🎣 Survival & More - All-Purpose Utility Cord Ideal for Tie-Downs, Gear Bundles, Boot Laces (100 ft - 300 ft)

SPECTRA CORD - An all-purpose utility cord / speargun line with break strengths of: 1.8mm = 350 pounds, 2.2mm = 400 pounds. Spectra rope is the go to choice for high tension applications where you need a reliable line that will not snag, sever, or snap under pressure. POWERFUL CORE - Industrial strength Spectra fibers are ‌Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), 15 times stronger than steel and up to 40% stronger than Kevlar. The synthetic material is extremely resistant to cutting, abrasion, and degradation from sunlight and UV rays. UHMWPE fibers will repel moisture and float in water, a perfect choice for marine environments. Extremely low stretch, with less elasticity than both nylon, and Dacron polyester. RESISTANT SHELL - Cut-resistant Spectra core is wrapped in a braided polyester sheath that provides an extra layer of resistance to water, weather, surface abrasion, and degrading chemicals. The polyester jacket is flexible enough to allow for excellent knot retention, but thick enough to keep the core untouched by the elements. LENGTH and WIDTH - Choose between pre-cut lengths 100 feet or 300 feet. SGT KNOTS Spectra Speargun Line diameter thickness options: 1.8 mm or 2.2 mm. Available in 5 colors: Aqua Camo, Desert Camo, Neon Orange, Neon Yellow, or White. VETERAN OWNED and OPERATED - Spectra Speargun Line made in the USA. Just like the Marine Corps, SGT KNOTS is committed to being the best of the best. We continue to live by the motto, Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful. Our loyalty to our customers is what makes us who we are, and the reason we continue to grow in popularity and product offerings. We promise to maintain the strength and consistency of our products. Looking forward to using it

Haven't used it yet but plan to soon. It's a bit smaller than I thought (my mistake I didn't check the size) but I already know how to solve this problem. It arrived on time and I look forward to using it.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some flaws

As ordered. Holds knots very well.

Shipped and delivered quickly and as ordered. The 1.8mm material with the Dacron shell is so small and dense that it's quite stiff and holds knots very well. The inner fibers are not twisted. I was hoping for a rectangular brown coyote (498), but next to it is desert camouflage.

Definitely spectra.

I ordered 1.8mm desert camouflage cord to wrap around my very large (4ft diameter) boat steering wheel. It's a little lighter than the picture, but strong and sturdy. This product is really spooky (known to sailors as a material that doesn't stretch) - to make a tight wrap I pull really tight and it doesn't stretch. As a hiker this is great for tying down the shelter as it is lightweight and durable.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Compatibility

Super strong and super thin

Excellent material. It's a little tricky to cut and you'll definitely have to heat the cut ends with a heat gun or lighter to seal it, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do. We used this for our competitive FRC end-of-match climbing robot. We wound this line on a 2 inch spool using a motorized winch and it lifted our 150 pound robot with no problem. Hard to believe it can carry so much weight despite being so thin.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Requires socket

Great dynamite for a gun.

Ordered as a test stand for the wishbones on the padding for the weapon. I've spent quite a bit of time in the water but I really like what I see. Takes knots well and has great bite with blade flex for a hammer style wishbone. The jacket melts cleanly and blends well for finishing. If I see anything other than excellent durability I'll write back, but based on my experience I doubt that will be the case.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Everything in order

Low elasticity, holds knots.

Ordered a 300ft spool of 2.2mm desert camo cord for use as a lightweight tarp and tarp line. I wanted a lightweight cable, slightly lighter than a 550 cable but without the reflective properties of most lightweight camping cables. Delivered quickly, works very well. The line is strong, almost stretch-free and holds knots very well thanks to the outer braided polyester layer. I am very happy with this purchase and will recommend this product to others, look for a similar product.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Issue

Breaks easily under tension

After testing this line with regular 2.5mm stretch and 3/32" paracord, it seems to break on all fronts. It ties knots with difficulty, does not hold tension (stretches), constantly fails at light weight. I just had a catastrophic line break (sounding like a .22 rifle) with only about 100 pounds of tension, which I applied to a regular nylon guy line and 275 paracord with no problem. It can't be that it has a Dyneema core. It is absolutely weaker than nylon rope. I have tried all sizes of this…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive
