I've used it on my expensive Wusthof knives and my gardening tools with equally good results. Almost idiotic evidence. Removed a scratch on a Wüsthoff blade that I was supposed to send to the factory to be sharpened, and sharpened some garden tools and shovel blades to make life easier. Definitely recommend.

I rarely write negative reviews, this is only the second review in the last 15 years, but I'm blown away by all the glowing comments. Not only did this thing not sharpen my scissors, it made them worse. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I watched the video, it doesn't seem like anything complicated. Used it on scissors, even worse.

Bought to sharpen 3 sets of lawn mower blades for my Honda mower. Done with the first sentence. Direct and very simple application to sharpen the blade area. It took a maximum of 5 minutes (the blades were removed from the mower). I prepped the mower blades using a vise and hand file to make sure there were no chunks on the cut surface. In fact, I'm not a mechanically intuitive person. I rely on clear, easy-to-read instructions and diagrams. But how complicated can a pencil sharpener be? Tried this sharpener on 2 machetes and a knife and discarded based on the results. I can achieve results with a wet stone or a grinding wheel. This sharpener in particular seems to tear the edge of the blade. No matter how I apply pressure, speed, or angle to a blade, the sharpener makes the edges jagged rather than sharp; almost jagged.
