Fails after less than 10 uses.

Don't stay open. You push the button, the umbrella opens partially, doesn't lock. I have only used the item a few times. I live in sunny Southern California and keep it in my car on rainy days. On the other hand I like it. It's the right size, very functional when it works. Please let me know how to claim the warranty - I want to exchange it for a new one.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to it
Cons
  • Hard to say

Barely withstands the storms of California

I live in San Francisco. We've had storms lately that have already broken 2 of my umbrellas. I chose this umbrella. This umbrella can't withstand the storms in the bay. Of course it's rainy and windy, but this umbrella opens at the slightest breath of wind. It is not so bad. At least it didn't break, but at least I want to get through the block without flipping it inside out. Tomorrow I will really review this umbrella.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Very expensive

Does not meet ShedRain standards

Extremely disappointed with this umbrella. I bought this to replace an old WindPro that had been field tested for years and the nylon was beginning to wear out. So far this new version has held up terribly in high winds and flipped easily in light winds. It may be defective, but I don't see anything clearly wrong with it. I've been a ShedRain fan since I got my first (it's my fourth) but this one doesn't match the previous ones I've had.

  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Well done and very attractive.

I got my new ShedRain Windpro Mini at the start of a long drought. That's why I haven't been able to give a really good rating yet. However, over the past week I have had the opportunity to test it in light, moderate and heavy rain, but not in strong winds. It worked like a champ! The handle is a bit short but the shade is well balanced and the auto open/close function works very well. I would call it "compact" rather than "mini umbrella". The hood is wide enough to cover one person well, but…

  • Easy to use

  • Something is wrong

Compact and durable - good enough for a rainy Chicago commute

I commute to downtown Chicago every day, which sometimes means walking between the office and the train station in inclement weather got to. This umbrella is perfect to slip into my backpack and keep there as a constant safety precaution. It's built well enough to vent most of the wind, but when really strong gusts come in and I'm leaning the wrong way, the chassis system is designed to "flip" the canopy and then flip it back without the the structure is permanently damaged. With the plus…
