Don't think they were bags as they were definitely sealed tight and couldn't expel air but although the oxygen absorber was still pink the bags were never compressed, and the air and oxygen stayed in the bags. Even adding two extra O2 absorbers (three per pack total) didn't happen.

The bags are very strong and nice but the O2 absorbers don't seem to work. I put two in every bag I make. They weren't exposed longer than it took me to close the bag and even after a few days the bag is still full of air. I may have received a bad batch but was very disappointed that it didn't work as expected.

If you don't have a lot of rice, wheat, etc. plan on sealing all 50 bags in less than 30 minutes Oxygen scavengers are utterly useless since they all suck together! So if, like me, you want to seal dehydrated veggies, fruit, etc., the only way to do it is to find freshly unwrapped oxygen scavengers! User friendliness.

I packed rice and beans and literally 1/2 of each was not without air in the mylar bag. I ended up opening the packages that didn't work and adding more oxygen scavengers. 4 total and they still haven't removed the oxygen from the bag. Such a waste of time and money. Bags are also very easy to dent and seem to tear easily. Don't recommend them or I'll buy them again someday.

These are excellent quality bags well worth the price. I use them for long-term storage of pasta, sugar, and other dry foods. I love that they come with shocks so I didn't have to order them separately. This product has worked so well for me that I recently placed another order for another one. I've heard people complain in reviews that absorbers come in packs of 10 instead of being "individually" wrapped. In the world of oxygen scavengers, that's actually REALLY good.
