I understand that cable end caps are a pretty mundane product, but it can be crazy to try to make sure they fit before you buy. They were used on the Campagnolo Ergo. Campagnolo Ergo brake and shift cables. You were perfect. They dress up and look great after crimping. The perfect ending.

Wow, these things are so much better than those stupid frayed ends sticking out. Pricey, it could have been more, but since they are made by Shimano you know they will work properly. I used Park Tool to install them. It's expensive, of course, but it's great to have the right tool for even this simple task.

They match my 1.2mm derailleur cable perfectly. I couldn't find the right tool with enough crimping force, so I used needle nose pliers and a huge set of vices to crimp the material. They are useful to prevent further wear and tear on the cord or from a frayed end cutting the skin. An alternative is to use solder and heat shrink tubing to seal the end of the cable.
