Just what my Clarice needed!

Bought a new bike with the Claris 8 speed system and felt I lacked the climbing ability with the 11-32T that came with the bike. It replaced the solarium. The HG shifts much smoother and the 11-34T is perfect for my needs. I'm no longer chasing the right amount of hits on ascension. Installation was easy.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Not the best

Great for a few weeks I use

Let me explain 2 things. I didn't install the reducer. I paid for the bike shop. Second, I also bought a chain. My old chain and gears were worn out. I couldn't pedal and felt like I was moving forward. Now I clean the chain and sprocket every 2 weeks. I hope it lasts 2 years with these transfers or 4000 miles.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

industry standard. Good gear ratios for a wide cassette.

Use on a road bike to protect my knees when riding in the mountains. Switching from ll to 34 feels like a smooth step with a nice midrange. If you just ride flat then 12-28 is probably fine. I've been using one of these on my touring bike for a few years for these really cool reviews.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
