🛡️ CWR-1 Protective Shield Review

The Shoei RF-SR helmet I bought came with clear lenses. These tinted lenses are great for day rides. Now I don't have to wear sunglasses in a helmet anymore. Good bye!

In 60 years of motorcycling I have tried everything for the anti-fog protection of my motorcycle helmets. The Shoei helmet fits best (in my opinion) - buy it tight and it will be smaller. The Pinlock system works great - never fogs up on cold winter days. It just works.

I bought this shield for one reason: riding in the sun with a transparent visor is disgusting. It definitely helped. It has reduced brightness and driving with the sun on your face is no problem. The only problem is that the kit does not include a pin lock. I could take it off my clear shield but will still use it for night riding (it's so easy to change out). So Pinlock bought separately, installed, no problem

Bought this visor hoping to get rid of the sunglasses. yes you still need them When looking into the sun, this visor allows you to see your full face. Unless you're looking directly at the sun, the visor looks dark, as you'd expect. Bottom line, this visor isn't dark enough to prevent me from using it at night or leaving my sunglasses at home. And from an aesthetic point of view, it only looks cool when you're not looking directly at the sun.

I added a Pinlock anti-fog layer and put it on my RF-SR helmet. Easy assembly, excellent look and fit. I also wish it was darker, but that's not a bad thing. I wear prescription glasses so I have to wear one of those flip up sunglasses but they push my glasses over my nose and get annoying after a few hours. This dark shield allows me to let shadows through while reducing highlights. A bit pricey but well made so I'll only cry once.
