Great hammer for hand tools

I have always needed a hammer like this and it has met and exceeded my expectations. Now that I've moved on to higher quality DYI projects, this hammer has proven invaluable. Many Thanks

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not sure

Great for blacksmithing

I bought this hammer to have a heavier metal blacksmith's hammer. Ideal for driving sheet silver into antique bronze moulds. I have also used it for stamping silver. The dies tend to damage the hammer's brass finish. Aside from damaging the face, it's great for stamping!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No automatic

The product in the photo is not what you will receive

Received the product I ordered. The item appeared as a 24-ounce orange mallet. Didn't have time to send back for a new one. Business shouldn't be like this. I understand accidents happen. But in this case I feel I did not get what I paid for as described. I don't like bright orange color and this article drew me in. Too bad I didn't order the right thing.

Harder plastic than hard rubber head

If you hold these things in your hands for hours, you're going to be pretty picky about feel and function. I got the old black and gray model which I preferred but the head is made out of harder plastic than I was hoping for. I was trying to find a replacement for an old Husky I bought about 10 years ago. The balance feels a bit off and the grip is uncomfortable. New "improved" orange ones are a dime a dozen, very robust and not quite right.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
