New Gold Standard

The way this character interacts with the game should be the standard for amiibo functionality. It changes the game a lot, and all in a positive way. Leveling up a character unlocks a new relic, ability, or aesthetic change, and you can freely switch between them at any time, and everything is saved to the character. You can unlock co-op play on Wii U and use all Shovel Knight gear and costumes with a buddy and use your own knight in save files on 3DS and Wii U. Overall absolutely stunning…

This toy really made me want to play the game and now this game is one of my favorite games. I'm a New In Box collector so it was very nice to be able to use this amiibo while it was in the box. Not only that, I never felt that the amiibo offered enough value to justify discovering them, let alone using them at all, but this one is different. This is the first time amiibo has proven extremely useful. Adding multiplayer functionality or letting you become your own knight with all your saved data

Not as good as before, but still worth buying

At first you had to play co-op on Wii u and Switch, but after later updates you don't need an amiibo to play co-op. The main attraction of this amiibo is that you can play as a "custom knight". Enjoy Wii U

My 9 year old and I played Shovel Knight - Wii U together. It's a lot of fun and I wish there were more co-op platformers like this one. With amiibo, you can make the first or second player a "custom knight," where your moves are unlocked based on the amount of money you collect, rather than the upgrades you normally get. Information about your character is stored in the amiibo. Attachment is drop-in style, but can only be done between layers. There are many additional relics and moves from the
