Great fun, great entertainment, great all round

This is the first book I have ever read by Carl Hiaasen and I loved it. It's a very light, entertaining, quick read with memorable characters and, most importantly, a satisfying ending. Usually the plots and feelings in such books are very mundane, and although much of the book is formulaic, Carl Hiaasen's writing emphasizes the narrative. I also liked that most of the characters had multiple dimensions, so my first impressions of the characters were constantly challenged. The plot involves…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Hiasen's close encounter with reality is still beautiful.

Not as terrifying as many of Hayasen's other mysteries, but definitely worthwhile and entertaining. In fact, I would even call it "soft". As always, great performances and delicious "dessert-only bastards". And it has a delightfully wide selection of scumbags. The resolution is particularly skillful. Great. He is a full character with an understanding of his feelings and actions. The Killer is a particularly focused and creepy character. It even has a tragic moment and a tearful moment…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Your actions come back to haunt you.

Wondering what happens when you throw trash out your car window? Read "Sick Puppy" and find out. Twilly Spree sees debris fly out of a Range Rover while driving down a Florida highway. He follows a crime house and then sets out to turn his world upside down. He literally smashes the man's wife's BMW while they're out to eat. He kidnaps her dog. It harms men who are gored on big game. And more. The man in the Range Rover is Palmer Stout, a powerful lobbyist. He receives no messages until the end

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No vending machine
