Waste of Money on my review.

This shift cable is absolutely terrible. It was supposed to be easy to install, but instead it was a nightmare. I had to take my car to a mechanic who charged me even more for the installation.

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • Difficult installation.

Poor quality replacement cable

I have been a marine mechanic for over 15 years Gimbal bell housing, very thin and breaks off when pulled to seal the gasket with minimal torque. I strongly recommend using a different cable, it's not very good.

Pros
  • Before purchasing, check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure a correct fit.
Cons
  • Not sure.

Bad design. The device broke immediately.

Poor design. The faucet broke immediately. The cable is thicker which would help any boat that has had shifting problems in the past, but the thicker cable makes the fitting thinner. By the end of the thread, the wall is less than 1 mm. That might be fine with stainless steel, but definitely not good enough with brass. Mercrusier manufacture specifications call for 65 lb/in to tighten the nut, but the fitting broke at 35 lb/in. I ended up with a spare cable which I hand tightened and secured…

Pros
  • Interchangeable with Mallory 9-72156, GLM 21711 and Mercruiser Stern Drive 19297A3, 43432A2, 815471A3, 815471A5, 815471A6 and 865437A02
Cons
  • Security
