Description of πŸ“· Sigma 402963 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Micro Four Thirds, Black - High-quality Wide-angle Lens for Micro Four Thirds Cameras

A wide-angle prime, this 16mm f/1. 4 is designed for micro Four Thirds mount Mirrorless cameras and provides a 24mm equivalent focal length. Fast f/1. 4 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and also affords greater focus control for producing shallow Depth of field effects. Three FLD elements, two Sled elements, and two molded aspherical elements to help reduce color fringing, chromatic aberrations, and spherical aberrations for notable sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy from Edge to edge. A super multi-layer coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlight conditions.

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

In general, for a videographer on a crop, Those most cherished 24, which when recalculated is 27 Pros below: Everything is great! which does not β€œskip” focus due to a braked motor, like native 18-105, albeit heavy. Has cons:

Best af m43 lens.

This and the Sigma 30mm f1.4 are must-haves for the m43 at the moment, they are the sharpest autofocus lenses I've tested!

  • Availability
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

It stays on my camera.

So I usually alternate between shooting with the gh4 and the G7, both Lumix cameras. This lens makes my G7 look like a gh5. I love how wide it is and using it on the m43 body allows me to capture clean footage in low light without upping the speed. Solid purchase.

Fast and sharp @ f/2.8

Great lens. I use this with my Panasonic GH5 for videos and photos. Low-light performance is excellent and images are very sharp at f/2.8. The bokeh is soft and creamy. This is one of, if not the, sharpest lens I currently own. The build quality is fantastic. Glass and optics perfect. Good auto focus. No complaints. If you're looking for a sharp, bright, wide-angle lens, this should be missing from your camera bag.

  • Great for me

Inexpensive sharp 4/3 micro wide angle lens $$$

This lens is one of the sharpest 4/3 micro lenses I have ever used. I shoot with the G7 and this and my 25mm 1.4 lens have similar clarity, boosting clarity you can't get with most other lenses in this price range. Being wide-angle, the 16mm or 32mm equivalent doesn't seem like an unusual focal length. Actually I really like it; makes good wide portraits or landscapes. It feels very premium and the weather protection is a plus. Highly recommended!

This is an AWESOME lens for Micro Four Thirds video

After trying to reduce the depth of field with an Oly 12-40/2.8 and found that my 50/1, 4 Pentax SuperTak was too much, I bought this lens. This is an AWESOME online video maker. Shooting courses, for zoom, YouTube etc. Excellent (reduced) depth of field, much sharper at f/1.6 but still blurs the background well. Maybe, or maybe, the Oly 17/1.2 is the best lens. but it is 3 times more expensive. Is it 3 times better? He is light. Great lens but plastic tube unlike Oly and not weatherproof. But…

Amazing Lens: Camera Lenses

You can't go wrong with this lens, it's a lot cheaper than Panasonic's 7mm to 14mm lens. Or Leica 8 to 16. The image quality is extremely sharp. Ideal for astrophotography. Like any faint light. Great street photography. Every picture I take is very sharp. Let in tons of light. The quality of the lens is impeccable. Protected from bad weather. My Panasonic g85 has no focus. Haven't used it on video yet, maybe in the future. This is a beautiful piece of glass. The focus ring in manual mode is…

Almost done, Sigma

I've had mixed results with Sigma lenses over the years, but it's fair to say that the Sigma lenses of my youth had nothing to do with the exceptional lenses the Art series are these days. . The less talked about the first Sigma lenses and quality control, the better. I was intrigued by the $300 16mm f/1.4 lens, and in many ways this lens is exceptional, but not in all. The first one I had was very sharp up to about f/4, but wide open (f.1.4) it completely lost focus. Now it is difficult to…
