🧭 Compact Black Mini Compass in One Size Review

This is a well-made compass in a compact size. Has most of the features of a full-size compass but fits easily in your pocket. This is the second one I own, my original has worked faithfully for over 20 years. No bubble like cheaper models.

I ordered one. After it arrived with an air bubble in the compass chamber I sent it back and requested another one. The second had an even larger bubble in the compass chamber. Although they are externally identical to the Silva Mini that I bought 15 years ago, both are structurally inferior to my original in other respects.

Should have read the reviews and paid attention. Many reviews mentioned large air bubbles. The first compass I bought had a 6mm bubble level. I ordered a second one to send the first one back. I contacted Silva and they assured me it was not normal and I should send it in with my method of purchase for warranty. Surprise! The second has the same problem.

This compass replaces a similar Brunton model which has been discontinued. I carry this compass with me every day and put it on my coat when I go hunting. It's accurate and reliable. It's graduated in 5 degree increments and it's a little tedious to set the exact bearing, but it's possible. It has the features of a full-size compass and is worth the price. Another great Silva product. Fast delivery from seller. I will buy another one in the future.

I bought it because I was looking for a quality compact lightweight compass. That's not it. It's a scam and a toy. I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I had a large blister interfering with the needle. Useless as a compass. Also there is no point in returning mine as it was sent to me abroad. I went out of my way to buy this compass thinking that "Silva" = "Quality". price as high as possible. This is one of those articles. I'd happily pay five times more for a quality product…
