Great idea, mostly functional

I bought this drive bay adapter because my computer case didn't have a front USB 3.0 port and had poor support for 2.5" drives. I was able to fit a hard drive and a solid state drive in it. Bracket. Unfortunately, due to the way they are made, USB 3.0 patch cords are usually very narrow, and I had to remove the connectors, install drives, and then reseat the connectors. I had to deduct a star for the accommodation.

  • Nothing here

Looks good but only works halfway after minimal use

FP36B-E is just what I need for my old PC case that lacks 2.5" drive bays and USB 3.0 ports. The main bracket is thick nickel. coated steel and aluminum front panel. The USB connectors are held securely inside the adapter, so there is no play when inserting/removing devices. All mounting holes are aligned exactly where they should be. It's held up well in the short time I've owned the FP36B-E. I don't have many USB 3.0 devices so the panel hasn't been used much and yet one of the connectors is…

Reliable all round: card reader

Breathing new life into an old PC. We've been holding the i5-2500K since 2011, so in an early 2000s chassis. There were no 2.5-inch drive bays or front USB 3.0 ports in the case. It worked great to modernize it a bit. The front connector on my ASUS P8Z68-V was completely plug-n-play. Two solid state drives fit nicely in the bay. The only issue is that the USB cables from the front panel are thick and a little stiff, and due to the alignment with the 2.5-inch brackets, you'll need to use some…

Neat product. I needed that

Nothing to say except that he does what he has to do. The reason I'm writing is to confirm that it can indeed install 2 SFF drives in one bay with a few caveats. The bottom disk MUST be thin. The top can be thin or regular. You also don't want to use right angle SATA cables due to their close proximity. Based on the product photos, I was wondering if this is even possible and if so, if the cable is taut. I assure you you can install 2 slim, 1 slim, 1 standard or 1 slim and 1 standard.

Works well for me for computers and accessories

I wanted to add some USB 3.0 ports to the front of my HP 8300 SFF computer. Along with a 2-port PCI Express Mailiya PCI-E to USB 3.0 card, this did the job. It also gave me room to mount two 2.15" system drives. My only criticism of this product is the USB cables. I had to route several cable loops inside the already crowded case. Also, the cable for the USB center connector has to be bent at a very acute angle to get past the USB drives. Silverstone recommends that you have your supplier use…

Works exactly as promised. Superb finish

I took it for two reasons. I have a case (NZXT Vulcan) that doesn't have USB 3.0 ports on the front or top. I also have an SSD in addition to several hard drives. The SSD took up valuable space that my mechanical drives needed (it's a multimedia PC). This device combines both functions in a single 3.5-inch bay. If I was complaining at all, I'd request that the USB 3.0 ports be centered on the bracket, as it looks off-center (although that doesn't really matter). The 3.0 motherboard connector is

Silverstone Tek 3.5 " Drive Bay with 19-pin USB 3.0 Internal Adapter

This is a solid and well-made adapter that fits through a hole in a 3.5" floppy drive enclosure. It can install two 2.5-inch hard drives and also has two USB 3.0 ports on the front. For older cases made before the advent of the USB 3.0 standard, this is the perfect match. It fits perfectly on my Antec NSK 3480 case and looks like the USB plug slides into the socket on the motherboard and is easy to remove.
