Excellent external SSD adapter

Bought for my MacBook to expand storage. Everything works as advertised, although I wish they included a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable (currently you have to use the small adapter that comes with the box). I also wish there were threads you screw the platters into as it looks like they can wear out if you keep swapping SSDs.

Pros
  • Supports SCSI protocol connecting to USB (uasp) specification rev 4
Cons
  • Slightly torn

  • There are more interesting options.

Works great on USB3

Use only at USB3 speeds. That works great. I had to put in some effort to mount the memory card along with the included and required thermal transfer pads. I think I would have preferred if they had an open clamshell design rather than employing a wand with heat transfer plastic as the plastic is a little sticky and difficult to slide, although I did. Aside from the installation, it works great.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Great craftsmanship wasted on idiotic design

First I have some Silverstone products. They are usually a bit more expensive, but always well made. The thing is well made, but unfortunately poorly constructed. The only way to access the circuit board is to insert or remove it through the removable end caps. Thermal pads are included. In the end you have two possible scenarios.1. It is easy to insert and the top thermal pad has poor contact with the case.2. The top thermal pad makes good contact, but trying to insert it ends with a broken…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
