Nice smooth grip for liquid but not perfect.

(unscrewed to reveal grommet + bottom screw added) Flowing feel through grommet and thick clear o-ring lube. I like this style because it's compact and muscular. However, I don't like that the base rotates when the handle is released. The set screw (on the opposite side) must be tightened to hold the assembly together but not prevent the base from rotating. I hate it with all single head screws. I also hate the notch on the opposite side of the handle and not at a 90 degree angle to the handle.

A great ball head with stable and smooth adjustment holds the Surface Pro 6.

I understand most people buy these ball heads for cameras but I use them to hold gadgets. I've tried different brands and price points and the best way I can describe it is that you can get a quality $40-$50 ball head for around $16. Now back to what I use it for: I've put together a couple of mounts for the iPad and the Surface Pro. My requirements are that the ball head must be able to support about 2 pounds (and still at odd angles), be easy to adjust, and be accessible. Also the ball head…

Great mini ball head

SIOTI tripod The mini ball head is great. I've tried several others and this is the best mini ball head I've found. I use them to mount both small road cameras (Panasonic DMC-Z50) and flashes on horizontal mounts. The locking knob is smooth and strong like a stone. I would have liked if the round mounting base at the top of the device could be unscrewed from the stud, but it looks like it's going to stay there forever; but I didn't take the pipe wrench with me. I will be buying more of these…
