Great mini ball head

SIOTI tripod The mini ball head is great. I've tried several others and this is the best mini ball head I've found. I use them to mount both small road cameras (Panasonic DMC-Z50) and flashes on horizontal mounts. The locking knob is smooth and strong like a stone. I would have liked if the round mounting base at the top of the device could be unscrewed from the stud, but it looks like it's going to stay there forever; but I didn't take the pipe wrench with me. I will be buying more of these for my future DIY projects before the price goes up or they go away. Mini ball heads only have two to three full threads on the top 1/4" screw shank. The ball head I replaced has six to seven full threads and is about 5/8" long, creating a strong connection to what's on They attach it.. Unfortunately, Sioti is less than half the length of the unnamed miniball head. I'd be much happier if that top screw on Shioti was longer. I haven't had a block failure yet, but that's the weak link in my opinion. However, the friction screw on the side is about 100 times better than the screw on the spare head.It worked well today on my monopod.Shioti provided enough friction to keep the Canon 60D flexible but tight with a 55-250 lens so she could move with the aim without having to unlock and lock her head.I really wish those threads weren't so short on a spiral post.
