Okay, first I have to admit I ordered the wrong shoes. Thought I'd order the mesh version, I got the leather version instead. This shoe is a MUCH better choice. The mesh comes loose quickly and can get a little dirty. Nevertheless, the grid is very practical. These shoes are made of leather. I have very wide feet. My husband has many problems, back problems, bad knees and poor circulation (due to diabetes). If he was in the store he would complain within 5 minutes (I didn't take him anymore). Even going from his desk to the toilet at work on the camp's concrete floor was next to impossible. Of course he insisted on wearing biker boots. Although I told him they don't offer any support.
