Memory foam insole does not provide cushioning. I can press the insole with my finger and feel that the insole does not cushion and I can feel a hard surface under the insole. I did my daily walk the same day I got these shoes and on just one walk I almost had to stop because my feet were so sore! It was like walking barefoot on concrete. I've only had these shoes for two weeks and the stitching on the sides is starting to unravel. This is happening for the first time in my life. I used to wear New Balance 8.5 wide shoes and following Revain's fit recommendations I bought these Sketchers Relaxed Fit 8.5 Oak Canyon Oxford shoes. This turned into a big disappointment. I wear these shoes for about 10 days with occasional use (every few days). Memory foam insoles are already wearing out. I feel a separation between sides, heel and bottom. I can almost feel the ridges in the rubber underneath. Skechers chose to glue the insole to the base of the shoe, making it difficult to swap out quickly. However, the upper and rubber outsole hold up very well.

Perfect fit, very comfortable and beautiful shoe. It's sad to have to correct my previous review but this is the second pair I've tried. Typically sketchers last me 9-12 months before needing to be replaced, they only last 3 months each before the soles in them wear out. They're more comfortable than most sketchers and look prettier than men's tennis shoes, but they don't last long.

The reason I wear Skechers is because they offer an X-wide width. I need a size 12 X-wide (6-ee). I really like the look of this Oak Canyon. For many years, Skechers was the only company to offer X-Wide. They added memory foam to the sole of this shoe. It doesn't fit completely from side to side, there is a thin gap at the edges. Fits well. The quality looks good and the color looks good in person. Got them for a good price too. Edit after a while: The quality didn't last. The shoes fell apart pretty quickly. The sole detached from the front of the boot. As already mentioned, the protector wears out quickly. I loved these memory foam shoes and bought them a while before this pair. I switched to another shoe brand due to quality issues.
