SmallRig 15mm Carbon Fiber Rods (Non-Threaded) - 4 inches, Pack of 2 - 1871: Compatible with 15mm Rod Support Systems Review

Somewhat disappointed. Got this specifically for my BMPCC 4K setup for V-mount battery pack and follow focus. I got my Tilta Mini Follow Focus today and when I clamp it onto this rail it rotates around it. I was wondering if it was a follow focus issue but then I connected it to a different rail and it had no rotation at all. I tried to press as hard as possible but to no avail.

The most important thing you need when you have clamps for parallel bars that share a common clamping point is a matching circle - otherwise one bar will slip when the other is tightened. I have a quick adjust baseplate with this feature and these bars just don't work for it (at least the ones I have). It would be nice, even great, if you could have separate clips for each clip, but they don't have strict enough manufacturing specifications to be good for every purpose.

These rods are approx 0.5-0.25mm smaller than 15mm which means they are not suitable for my intended purpose of replacing the FS7 finder rod are. Also, the sharp-edged clips will scratch the bars, which I think is a trade-off for the light weight, but still something to consider. Things also tend to slip more, so don't use them for anything other than a matte box or a lens mount that holds both rods and doesn't depend on just grabbing one, such as a matte box or lens mount. B. a focus motor.

The tube size was very consistent in length and between the two tubes I received. The fit was perfect on all 15mm system components I tried it with.
