Super good good for camera and photo

It's expensive but when you get the clip and see all the details it's worth it. There is a built-in shock absorber. Load the spring on the clamp to prevent the lever from rotating in the open position, etc.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • faded

Good but not for larger mics

I bought it to use with NTG 2. The fit was good, but the rubber mounts are flimsy and the mic often rocks back and forth during use. I tried to pull up, but that wasn't an option. Possibly suitable for small microphones.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • High price

Excellent for this money!

Definitely worth the money. Sony charges A LOT for replacement parts (even for a 2013 camera) so this is definitely a better and cheaper replacement! It has bushings so it does move a bit, but there is a small price to pay.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Transparency

Very robust microphone holder

This holder. Very practical microphone holder. Nothing to fault. It does its job very well, is very well made and has a sleeve at the base of the handle so that it can move a little and has a little play so that sudden movements don't cause any noise.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Reliable

Very well made, secure fit.

Very well made, but only good for the shortest shotgun mics unless you mount them in the center of gravity. There is a rubber hinge under the bracket that protects the microphone from vibration. My short Audio Technica AT897 sags if I don't press it closer to the center, which isn't a problem, but I would have preferred it to be a little forward. In general, this is very good.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Incredibly suitable for Movo or even other small pistol mics.

I'm using this with a $40 MOVO block right now. Yes, this single mount costs the same as the microphone; but this mic has the pathetic pretense of a shock absorber. This provides damping and picks up the microphone very well. I've never had a problem with this mount and I think it's even better if you have a smallerrig cage for your camera to attach it to as well.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some cons

Shotgun microphone holder for SLR hot shoe.

This is a dependable, well-made product that reliably performs its functions. It's not flimsy and its solid construction allows for a variety of microphones on my SLR. The handle is released with a simple twist and the microphones can be easily switched when needed. There is a strong lock ring nut that secures the rig to the camera's hot shoe so it doesn't come loose from the camera until you want it to.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Zero

Don't waste your money

I'm not sure what the designers were thinking, but this holder is incredibly wobbly, even when used with lightweight microphones. But judging by the build quality, you'd think it could handle a lot of weight. The problem is the small pieces of rubber that the mount sits on. This is the only thing that separates the mount from the hot shoe adapter. Any mic you put in this thing will cause the plastic to bend, and because it's so thin it bends a lot. So instead of a good, solid mic mount, you get
