The reason they only show it in profile is because they have a huge seam that runs down the center front. It touches the mouth and nose and is quite annoying. The quality of smartwool products is excellent and this item is exceptionally well made. It's a shame that a good product has become a tiresome product through a stupid decision.

The face hole on the delivery does not match the picture. If I wear it right to cover my head, it won't cover my nose. When I pull it to cover my nose, it falls off my head. My husband has an old model that works great. This version does not fit.

The best balaclava I have ever owned. I like it because it breathes. The goggles do not fog up and since they are breathable, no moisture can be felt inside.

I find it a bit scratchy and not very comfortable. I decided to give it a go but would probably choose something else if I did it again.

is great for cycling in cold weather (24 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit) without overheating. The neck is a bit short so you can use spats. At temperatures below 24 degrees I use the Minus33 Merino Wool Expedition Balaclava.
