SmashBox Cover Shot Eye Palette Review

In the picture, one of the colors was more purple. What I got was brown. I'm keeping it because brown also goes well with my eye color, but I was really looking forward to purple.

I'm deducting one star because the colors are grayer and more muted than in the picture. Blends easily and doesn't fall out too much. It stays on my eyelids all day. In general I like it.

The colors and quality of this palette are amazing. It's not easy to find cool matte shadows outside of a huge palette of unwanted shimmer and glitter, but this one has them. On the other hand, it's a very small palette, about the size of a mobile phone or smaller. The quality is good - pigment, durability, shading, etc. The quality of the palette itself is also good - durable materials, mirror, magnetic closure. Just know it's small.

I ordered a palette of pink/purple colors but received olive/brown even though the package was labeled correctly. The eyeshadow was not protected or sealed so loose pigment was all over the palette and on the mirror. Looks like the original eyeshadow has been replaced with something very cheap. Excellent opacity, good shadow quality. When used with a lid primer, you only need a little to bring it out. The colors are bright and shimmering.

I couldn't believe how hard it was to find a decent purple eyeshadow palette. I finally found it and I love it. The colors have a pleasant pigment, are easy to apply and mix well. This is a palette I often use in the mornings as I get ready for work.
